You can earn a total of 35%
sympathy by simply building a
Consulate, a Newspaper office and
cultural center. One other building
will add 0.5% to your sympathy
rating in the country its built
every turn. So any country that has
a sympathy rating of 65% before you
start stands a very good chance of
becoming yours if you build all
those buildings in its Capital and
do not upset it in the mean time.
Any small nation with a sympathy
rating of 50% or higher towards you
is worth the effort. Anything lower
than that will require you pay them
special attention when forming
alliances and helping them in other
ways.
Allowing small nation to join your
alliance always raises its Sympathy
with your Empire, as does trade.
Throwing goods at them when they do
not need it however does not work.
They will refuse and your Sympathy
rating will drop.
Once Loan Armies becomes available
you can give any nation that's
currently under attack some Armies
to protect it self without
declaring war on the side attacking
it. Doing this raises the Sympathy
for your Empire with the nation
your helping. |
